Firefighters swarmed over a Seattle police patrol car that struck a restaurant, trapping an officer inside.

Firefighters swarmed over a Seattle police patrol car that struck a restaurant in south Seattle and extricated an officer trapped inside.

Live video on KIRO 7 Eyewitness News from Chopper 7 showed rescuers pulling the officer from the car. The officer was put on a stretcher and taken to a hospital.

The front end of the patrol car was stuck in the building, a sandwich shop at First Avenue and South Bennett Street in the city's Georgetown neighborhood.

There is no immediate word on the condition of the officer.
