A former Marion firefighter was sentenced this week to eight years in prison for trying to solicit sex from someone he thought was a teenage girl online
Joshua Cunningham, of Madison County, had pleaded guilty to charges of child solicitation and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
Cunningham was arrested in June on suspicion of trying to solicit sex from a Noblesville police officer who was posing online as a 15-year-old girl.
Police said Cunningham also performed a sexual act in front of a webcam during the online sting.
Cunningham was suspended from his job after his arrest. He lost the job as a result of the guilty plea.
