Officials were waiting for hot spots to cool down Monday morning so they could figure out what sparked a two-alarm fire at a Montgomery County assisted-living facility.
NBC Chopper 10 captured images of flames shooting through the roof and thick smoke barreling into the black, morning sky before 6 a.m., but fire officials said everyone was able to get out of the Pennsburg Borough facility.
The night watchman was treated for smoke inhalation and was the only one injured, according to authorities.
The Park Avenue Manor is located in the 100 block of Main Street near Church Street, and a section of the street was closed down to all traffic during the blaze. It is an assisted living facility for the mentally disabled.
Firefighters fought the blaze throughout the morning, and investigators are still trying to figure out what caused it.
Resdients displaced by the fire were staying at a nearby church.
