A two-alarm fire spread through a southwest Houston apartment complex Monday morning, leaving at least four families homeless, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Flames and heavy smoke rose from the two-story building at the Braes Court Apartments on North Braeswood Boulevard near Durness Way at about 8:45 a.m., forcing first responders to pull a second alarm for extra manpower.
No injuries were reported, but four units sustained damage.
"I'm really glad no one's hurt. The bad part is we've got some folks who lost their home and we'll have to see what we can do to help them out." Houston Fire Department Deputy Chief Terry Stone said.
Authorities have not yet determined what sparked the fire.
