A vacant warehouse caught fire

An investigation is under way into what sparked a fire that had flames shooting 50 to 100 feet in the air overnight.

A vacant warehouse on Harriet Street in McKees Rocks caught fire around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters had to keep the flames from spreading to a nearby industrial propane tank at the Aztec Steel Co.

One neighbor told Channel 11 the fire lit up the night sky.

Vonne Norkus said, The sky was all orange; that's what it was in the back, all orange. And the flames were up over the roof. We didnt know if we had to leave or not, but we didn't have to.

The Allegheny County fire marshal was called to the scene.

No one was hurt.
