Three people who FBI officials say are involved with an ecoterrorist group have been arrested.
FBI officials announced Friday the arrests of Zachary O. Jenson, 20, of Monroe, Wash.; Lauren Weiner, 20, of Philadelphia; and Eric Taylor McDavid, 28, of Foresthill, Calif.
The arrests took place in a shopping center parking lot in Auburn, officials said.
The three suspects were arrested based on evidence indicating they were plotting, on behalf of the Earth Liberation Front, to use explosives to destroy facilities associated with the U.S. Forest Service, as well as unspecified cell phone towers and unspecified power generation facilities, officials said.
FBI officials said that there is no information to indicate there is an immediate danger to public welfare or safety.
