Orange County firefighters battled flames Wednesday afternoon and made multiple rescues from a burning home.
But the victims this time were dogs, WESH 2 News reported.
The fire was reported on Bay Lake Road just before 4 p.m. There were 21 dogs inside, and all of them got out safely.
It was a terrifying experience for the animals, but the owner was overwhelmed with gratitude.
"After it's over with, you just want to cry because it's your personal belongings. But these are more important. I said, 'My babies are dead, I know they're dead.' And they're OK," Marcia Mobley said. "Look at them. They're black but they're OK. He's supposed to be a white schnauzer."
None of the dogs have any injuries. Orange County firefighters rescued two of them, and the other 19 ran out into the back yard.
