California Firefighters Battle Grass Fires

    Fire crews in San Joaquin County battled a grass fire Tuesday afternoon in Manteca.

    The fire burned in a rural area off Yosemite Avenue between Airport and Fishback roads.

    The blaze began in a grove of bamboo and burned close to several homes. The fire did burn several stored cars and outbuildings in the area and put up a large plume of smoke.

    KCRA 3's Rich Ibarra reported that crews were in the mop-up stages as of 6 p.m.
