Fund Created for Nebraska Firefighter's Family
BELLEVUE, Neb. --
A fund was created on Wednesday to help the family of a local soldier killed in Iraq on Friday.
Spc. William Bailey, 29, leaves behind a wife and five young children.
Bailey's unit -- the 755th Chemical Company -- held a memorial service on Wednesday in Iraq. Bailey died Friday when an improvised explosive device exploded. The Bellevue volunteer firefighter had been in Iraq for almost six months.
If you'd like to contribute to his family, you can make a donation at any US Bank.
If you'd like to read about the memorial and see the unit's favorite photos of Bailey, Meteorologist Chuck McWilliams is part of Bailey's unit and his most recent blog post is dedicated to his fallen colleague.
