An apartment complex erupted into a two-alarm fire Monday afternoon, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Firefighters were called to the Green Arbor Apartments, located at 10601 Sabo near Fuqua in southeast Houston, at about 4:30 p.m. and called for more manpower a short time later.

Heavy flames and smoke forced the firefighters to enter a defensive mode and battle the blaze from the outside.

The fire, which started in a second-floor unit, was contained by 5:25 p.m.

Four second-floor apartments were destroyed, while four units on the first floor received water damage.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.

No one was injured.
