SUITLAND, Md. --
Prince George's County police said a car crashed into a house in Suitland, Md., early Tuesday morning.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 5000 block of Silver Hill Road.
Police said it appears the driver of the Mercedes Benz sports car lost control, hit several utility poles and then clipped the corner of a porch on a house.
The car then went airborne, according to police, and crashed through the brick wall of a house, landing in a bedroom.
Police said someone was home at the time of the incident, but no one was in that bedroom.
The driver of the car had to be freed by emergency personnel and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
Police closed the southbound lanes of Silver Hill Road while they dealt with the crash, but it has been reopened.
