SAN ANTONIO --

A Greyhound bus slid on a wet portion of Interstate 35 and dangled 40 feet over the Medina River on Sunday, frightening passengers.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The bus was headed from San Antonio to Laredo when it hydroplaned on the rain-slicked interstate and crashed into a guardrail. The front portion of the bus rested on a bridge at I-35 and Loop 1604, authorities said.

"I thought I was dead," said Valerie Roa, a passenger. "(There were) children crying and grown men freaking out."

With the help of firefighters, 30 passengers were eventually helped out of the bus.

"It was kind of a panic," Roa said. "But ... everybody stayed calm and we were able to get everybody off safely."

Greyhound officials will investigate the incident.
