"I just seen a bright light and I got scared, 'cause the old man sleeps there." said his neighbor who identified herself only as Tracy

Neighbors say the 68-year-old man suffers from emphysema.

Tracy knocked on the door and told him about the fire. It was burning in another room on top of a dresser.

By the time neighbors arrived to help the man was obviously having trouble breathing.

When firefighters arrived the quickly put out the small dresser fire but the occupant wasn't so lucky.

He stumbled out of into the front yard and collapsed. Medics took him to Harborview to be checked out.

Aria Watson is worried about her neighbor. "I just hope he's okay I wouldn't want anything to happen to him," she said.
