A firefighter was injured when an apartment wall collapsed on him.

Atlanta firefighters were working Wednesday to extinguish a three-alarm apartment fire at a northeast Atlanta apartment complex.

A firefighter was injured when an apartment wall collapsed on him while crews were working to extinguish the blaze at the Village at Bedford Pines, which is located in the 400 block of Boulevard Drive.

Authorities said the firefighter was rushed for medical treatment to a metro Atlanta hospital for treatment. The firefighter's condition was pending.

Crews were called to the complex shortly after 11 a.m. Authorities said it appears that the residents of the six-building complex managed to escape the blaze.

The fire apparently started on the second story of the complex.

Firefighters closed Boulevard Drive while they worked to extinguish the blaze.
