8 News was on the scene of a raging house fire in Henrico Saturday. That fire broke out at the corner of White Lake Drive and Cluck Road. As heavy flames rolled from the house, a thick black smoke was visible for miles.
Neighbors first on scene tell us they ran to the home in a panic, breaking windows and yelling inside to see if anyone was there. Fortunately, no one was home, but when firefighters arrived they faced a different problem. Strong winds were spreading the flames and there was no water. Tankers managed to transport enough water to get the blaze under control.
Fire officials tell us no one was injured, but two firefighters were treated on scene for heat exhaustion. Crews also had to douse a few minor brush fires that broke out around the neighborhood. Fire officials tell us they were probably sparked by embers from the house blown around by the wind.
