Computers May Have Accelerated Ohio Fire

May 1, 2006
The fire caused about $130,000 damage.

Fire tore through a Miami Township home Saturday night, and investigators said computers may have accelerated the blaze.

The fire happened in the 5000 block of Holly Hock Drive around 8 p.m. The homeowner said he thinks he may have left the stove on when he left to go shopping.

He said he returned 30 minutes later to discover smoke pouring from his home. Firefighters discovered over a dozen computers inside and said a computer is equivalent to 10 gallons of gasoline in a fire situation.

Damage was estimated at $130,000.
