Fire investigators said an electrical short is to blame for a fire that burned a Dayton family out of their home Tuesday night.

The fire started in one of the units of an apartment building in the 3000 block of Wexford Place.

Fire investigators said a mother and her six children lived in that unit.

Everyone got out OK.

The blaze did around $30,000 in damages.

The Red Cross is assisting the family.
