A two-alarm fire destroyed eight southwest Houston townhouses early Monday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The blaze broke out just before midnight at the Memorial Drive Townhouses, located at 14600 Memorial Drive near Dairy Ashford.

It spread quickly.

A bystander spotted the flames and tried to help.

"On my way, I happened to see two girls outside and they were pointing something out. I realized they were pointing at the fire and I got really worried about it, so I went around the neighborhood, got into the complex to knock on doors and wake people up. But, I already saw families coming out," witness Carlos Borentos said.

No one was injured.

The American Red Cross was called to help out the fire victims.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
