Brooklyn, Maryland-- Hazardous materials crews responded to a two-alarm fire in south Baltimore's Brooklyn neighborhood Friday evening.
WBAL-TV 11 News reporter Darrielle Snipes reported firefighters had to fight the fire from the exterior and that they had to extend hose for about a half mile from the scene.
"It was noted that there were several barrels of an unknown solution inside the building ... they will test whatever is in the barrels to find out what it is," Baltimore City fire spokesman Kevin Cartwright said.
The fire erupted in the 1100 block of Edwight Court at about 8:30 p.m., and firefighters extinguished the blaze nearly two hours later. The cause remains under investigation.
