Lightning struck a tree and then spread to a house on Lake Norman on Sunday.

The fire destroyed the house which sits in the Pebble Bay neighborhood where there are no fire hydrants.

Firefighters say the house was fully engulfed by the time they arrived Sunday night.

Neighbors plan to ask county leaders to install hydrants.
