(Union-WABC, October 5, 2005) - Three thousand people in New Jersey without power this morning because of a transformer fire.

It happened last night at an electrical substation on Vauxhall Road, near Route 22 in Union, New Jersey.

Traffic had to be diverted around the scene of the fire, a task made more difficult because none of the street lights was working.

It's not clear when full power will be restored.
