Con Ed is investigating a powerful explosion in the Bronx that left a firefighter injured Saturday night.

The blast happened around 9:30 in the Longwood section of the Bronx, and it was powerful enough to knock a parked SUV on its side.

Fire officials say the firefighter was taken to Jacobi Hospital with minor burns. No one else was hurt, and there is no word on what caused the explosion.

Con Edison says no one lost power because of the explosion, and no carbon monoxide was detected in the air.

The incident comes just days after Con Edison defended itself at a city council hearing into a series of injuries as a result of electricity being somewhere that it shouldn't be.
