The three explosive devices hit the exterior of the building.

Several Molotov cocktails tossed at a southeast Houston nightclub sparked a fire early Friday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The blaze broke out at Roy Meza's Beer Garden , located at 2910 Navigation at North Ennis, at about 4 a.m.

A passerby first noticed the flames and then ran across the street to a fire station and alerted firefighters. The blaze was tapped out a short time later.

The firebombs were thrown at the building's exterior and did not reach the inside of the facility.

Investigators found three Molotov cocktails on the ground near the left side of the building, where the fire started. One of them had not yet exploded. Crime scene investigators hope it will provide clues as to suspects.

The owner cannot believe someone torched his business.

"When someone fireballs your house or your business, it's very shocking, you know. We're in here to earn a living and stuff like that. This is my livelihood now," Roy Meza said.

"It's so upsetting. Roy Meza is a good friend of mine. He's a real good guy. I don't know why they'd do this to him. He's not the kind of guy they would do this to, so it's just somebody acting dumb," employee D.J. Lumbre said.

No one was injured.

The popular Tejano bar has been open since 2001. Meza said he is determined to reopen soon.

"We've been here for five years and we're still going strong. We're not going to let a little fireball take us out," Meza said.

Most of the damage was contained to the outside.

Meza said vandals have broken into his business a couple of times recently. It's not known if the fire is related.

Police have no suspects.
