Five Detroit Firefighters Injured Battling House Blaze

One firefighter went through the floor

Five Detroit firefighters were injured while battling a house blaze on the city's west side Friday morning.

The firefighters were hurt when the first floor of the home on Roselawn Street collapsed, Local 4 reported. One firefighter went through the floor, and the others were injured while trying to rescue him, the station reported.

Two of the firefighters were transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital. The three others were treated at a clinic for their injuries. The firefighters were all expected to recover, the station learned.

The residents of the home were not injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
