New York Firefighters Make Dramatic Rescues In Four-Alarm Blaze

At least one woman was seriously injured and two firefighters are also in the hospital due to injures.

Hoboken, New Jersey-- A four-alarm fire burned through an apartment building in Hoboken, New Jersey. It left people on their fire escapes trying to escape and a lot of saves being made by firefighters.

Eyewitness News reporter Lisa Colagrossi is at the scene right now.

This was a quick-moving, intense fire. It happened at 105 11th Street at Washington Street. The first floor houses Helmer's Cafe, a well-known restaurant. The top floors are apartments.

Firefighters could be seen rescuing people from those top apartments. A number of people had to be rescued. We have reports of two residents taken to the hospital. At least one woman was seriously injured and two firefighters are also in the hospital due to injures.

Several more firefighters and police officers were treated at the scene. There is still no word on how the fire started.
