The two members of Margate/Coconut Creek firefighters have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

Two Margate firefighters have been placed on administrative leave after allegations of rape at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Eric Stevers and Michael Henneforth were arrested and charged Thursday with sexual battery and false imprisonment.

Police allege Stevers, 30, and Henneforth, 26, sexually assaulted a woman in a public bathroom by the hotel pool earlier this month. Police said Stevers and Henneforth were drinking with the girl, then went to the pool area, where she was allegedly pinned against the wall and raped in the men's bathroom.

Margate/Coconut Creek fire-rescue spokesman Frank Porcella said Stevers has been with the department for nine years and Henneforth for about two years.

Porcella said the department is conducting an internal investigation and that both men have been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome.
