Piqua, Ohio-- It has been 12 hours since a fire raged through an old historic mill in downtown Piqua. On Monday morning, firefighters remained at the scene dousing hot spots.

Investigators said they will start looking into the cause of the fire once it has been determined safe for them to go through the mill.

Fire officials said flames ripped through the mill that housed the Tin Roof General Store on North Main Street. The fire happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

The old mill dates back to 1840 and is more than 160 years old. The owner had big plans for the mill that included a restaurant.

Investigators said there was also damage to the former Little Mos Nightclub, plus some heat and roof damage to other nearby buildings.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
