New Orleans firefighters are trying to salvage whats left of a local landmark.
A three-alarm fire broke out at the Brown Derby on Louisiana Avenue and Freret Street around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
Flames engulfed the building and caused its roof to collapse.
The Brown Derby was a popular and well-known corner store prior to Hurricane Katrina.
It suffered significant damage caused by flooding during the hurricane and had recently been renovated and reopened.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
