Firefighters found a body inside a car burning on the side of a North County road Sunday.

The flaming car was discovered on Poway Road just east of Espola Road at about 1 p.m. The body as found in the driver's seat. Investigators said the body was burned beyond recognition, but it appeared to be that of a woman.
The medical examiner's office is trying to determine the identity of the victim. Police are asking anyone with information on the fire to contact them.
