New Orleans firefighters have controlled a huge fire that engulfed almost an entire block in the Lower Ninth Ward.
The fire started just before midnight Friday.
The debris fire was difficult to fight due to the ongoing drought conditions in New Orleans and a lack of water sources for fire crews.
As many as 27 firetrucks were on the scene. Trucks had to pump water from the Industrial Canal to put out the flames.
The fire was brought under control early Friday morning.
