Six people, including four firefighters, were taken to the hospital after a fire at a Monroeville apartment complex on Wednesday night.
It happened about 8 p.m. at the Cambridge Square Apartments on Cambridge Square Drive (map) .
Two dozen apartments in two buildings were destroyed as flames ripped through the roofs, WTAE Channel 4's Jon Greiner reported.
The huge flames and thick smoke forced 42 people in 18 families out of their homes.
All who were taken to the hospital are expected to recover.
Investigators will be back at the scene on Thursday to figure out what caused the fire.
The Red Cross is helping the tenants who lost their apartments in the fire.
