An Indianapolis firefighter was injured while battling a garage fire on the city's northeast side late Tuesday night.
Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 4000 block of North Temple Avenue at about 11:45 p.m.
"There was a reported two explosions -- one small one and then a major explosion as the firefighter was approaching the structure," said Indianapolis fire Capt. Gregg Harris.
Injuries to the firefighter were not believed to be life-threatening.
Three people were inside the home next to the garage. They were not hurt. The injured firefighter was taken to Methodist Hospital. His identity was not released.
Harris said fire officials don't yet know what was inside the garage that might have caused the explosions, but they are investigating.
