Firefighters said they had trouble getting a hydrant to work

A massive fire burned for hours in Wall, destroying one house and spreading to nearby homes.

The fire started at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on Division Street, WTAE-TV Channel 4's Gus Rosendale reported.

Firefighters said they had trouble getting a hydrant to work, and they needed about two hours to bring the flames under control.

Two people were treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
