NEW YORK (AP) -- A Brooklyn man who travels around the country with an organization that says it helps children deal with trauma has been arrested on charges that he stole an air tank, harness, regulator and mask from the city's Fire Department, authorities said.

Michael Bellone, 51, sells a book and displays artifacts he says are from the World Trade Center site with a nonprofit called TRAC Team Inc., the fire department said in a news release.

Bellone is not affiliated with the fire department, which said it had received several complaints about TRAC Team's activities.

Bellone was arrested at the department's headquarters after he was interviewed by fire marshals. He was being charged with grand larceny, criminal impersonation and possession of stolen property, the department said.

TRAC Team's Web site said it was ''an integrated program of preparedness and education that supports and empowers children, their families and communities to help them deal with pre and post effects of critical incidences such as natural disasters, terrorism and trauma.''

Julie Franco, who was listed as a contact person on TRAC Team's Web site, said Tuesday the organization had no comment.
