Firefighters rescued someone from a house fire in Omaha on Thursday afternoon.

A home near 37th and Blondo streets caught fire. The house sustained significant exterior damage, authorities said, and the heat from the fire damaged nearby homes.

A toddler was taken to a hospital to be checked out, but is expected to be OK. Three people were home when the fire started.

Authorities said the fire started accidentally when someone dumped some charcoal in a trash can.
