Lumber Burns in Pennsylvania

April 13, 2006
Flames shot high into the air.

Some local employees may be out of a job as crews continue to control smoke at a lumber yard fire in Armstrong County.

A massive fire started just after 3 a.m. Thursday at Barrett Lumber along Allen Fort Road.

One of the main concerns for firefighters was the lack of water in the area.

Channel 11 News has learned that there was only one hydrant near the lumber yard.

Crews had to haul water to the scene. At one point flames were shooting 20 to 30 feet in the air.
