It took crews from more than 20 fire departments several hours to get the flames under control.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a fast-moving brush fire in New Jersey Tuesday afternoon.

The fire started just after 2 p.m. in Paulsboro, Gloucester County.

It took crews from more than 20 fire departments several hours to get the flames under control.

The flames burned about 100 acres of land.

Firefighters fought the blaze from the ground and the air.

They said the weather made their jobs harder because the grass was extremely dry.

The fire put some Paulsboro residents on edge.

"First you think it's alright then you see the fire coming," said nearby resident Kathy Croce. "I worry, ya know."

Croce and her family were evacuated for a time.

The people who were evacuated are back home.
