Several fire departments worked together Wednesday morning to tap out a two-alarm fire in north Harris County that burned for more than an hour and destroyed three businesses and two homes, KPRC Local 2 reported.
The fire started at a furniture store on Aldine Westfield Road and Chamberlain Street at about 5:30 a.m. Flames quickly spread to a liquor store, another business, a mobile home and a house.

Huge flames and large clouds of black smoke rose from the scene for more than an hour.
Several fire departments including Aldine, Aldine Community, Eastex Volunteer, Little York, Little York Volunteer, Northeast Fire & Rescue, Ponderosa and Westfield Volunteer responded to the scene.
The fire was under control but still smoldering at 7 a.m.
The owners of the liquor store, which has been there since 1968, said they would rebuild.
No injuries were reported but a puppy named Brownie was rescued from the fire.
The cause has not been determined, but firefighters told KPRC Local 2 that arson might be a possibility.
