Fire Consumes Historical Pennsylvania Landmark

The historic hotel and tavern were built in 1868.

Crews are still on the scene of a fire which destroyed a historical landmark in Bellefonte.

The Bush House Hotel and Schnitzel's Tavern, located at 315 West High Street, caught fire at about 7 a.m. Within an hour, the structure was almost completely gutted.

The hotel and tavern were built in 1868.

Fire companies from across Centre County responded, and traffic in downtown Bellefonte is being detoured.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
