Dogs Alert Owner to Georgia Blaze

Jan. 26, 2007
The two raced into the bedroom, and started barking.

A south Fulton County woman says her dogs are heroes.

The unidentified woman told firefighters that her dogs saved her as her house burned down around her.

The interior of the home at 3144 West Stubbs Road was a complete loss.

Firefighters said the homeowner told them she was sound asleep around 3:00 a.m. when her two dogs rushed into her bedroom and began barking.

A fire that investigators believe started in the chimney had spread throughout the house.

The woman scooped up the two canine heroes and got out of the burning home.

She said the dogs will get extra treats for saving her life.
