Trash Eyed as Cause of Houston Warehouse Fire

Heavy fire was encountered when firefighters arrived.

A pile of trash may be to blame for a warehouse fire in downtown Houston on Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston firefighters responded to the blaze on Commerce Street near Delano Street at about 9:30 p.m.

Crews found heavy flames when they arrived. It took about 15 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

Officials said a pile of trash inside the warehouse may have caught fire and spread to the building.

Arson investigators will determine the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
