Prince George's County Firefighters Were Handling A Two-Alarmer

Firefighters in Prince George's County are on the scene of a two-alarm fire at an apartment building in Suitland, Md.

Officials said the fire broke out shortly before 6:30 a.m. at the Andrews Manor apartments in the 6800 block of Maxwell Drive.

One firefighter suffered serious head injuries fighting the blaze, and was flown by a U.S. Park Police helicopter to a local hospital.

Authorities said a number of residents were evacuated from their apartments.

Fire investigators have not given a damage estimate and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
