Texas Firefighters Battle Huge Flames

The two-alarmer burned for over an hour

Several fire departments worked together Wednesday morning to tap out a two-alarm fire in north Harris County that burned for more than an hour Wednesday morning, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The fire started at a liquor store on Aldine Westfield Road and Chamberlain Street shortly before 6 a.m. and spread to two neighboring businesses and a mobile home.

Aldine Fire Department Chief Scott Turrentine told KPRC Local 2 that the blaze was difficult to attack because the fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived at the scene.

Huge flames and large clouds of black smoke rose from the scene for more than an hour.

Several fire departments including Aldine, Aldine Community, Eastex Volunteer, Little York, Little York Volunteer, Northeast Fire & Rescue, Ponderosa and Westfield Volunteer responded to the scene.

The fire was under control but still smoldering at 7 a.m.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause has not been determined.
