Firefighters in Charlotte were busy Monday as they responded to several early morning calls.

The first call came around 1 a.m. from South Charlotte.

Guests at the Ramada Inn on Woodlawn Road were evacuated due to smoke in part of the hotel.

Firefighters at the scene say the smoke was coming from an elevator room. No cause has been determined.

At 3:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a house fire on Tuckaseegee Road in West Charlotte.

The front of the house was almost destroyed during the fire.

The family living there was able to get out of the burning home with no injuries.

They are currently staying with family members.

Fire crews were called to North Graham Street just after 4 a.m. to put out two brush fires.

The fires were quickly extinguished but there is no word on what started them.
