The firefighter was in a fire engine that went out of control

An Atlanta firefighter is recovering today from injuries he received in a fire truck accident.

The firefighter was in a fire engine that went out of control, jumped a median and slammed into a light pole at Marietta Street and Northside Drive last night.

The firefighter suffered injuries to his face.

Fire department officials tell Channel 2 Action News that the injured firefighter was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

There's no word yet on his condition.
