Four Injured In Cincinatti Three-Alarmer

April 5, 2006
Firefighters were called to the corner of Court Street and Main Street

Fire crews spent much of the morning battling a smoky blaze at a downtown Cincinnati building that forced 35 people out of their homes.

Firefighters were called to the corner of Court Street and Main Street to find heavy smoke coming from a fourth-floor apartment.

The fire eventually reached three alarms as more firefighters were brought in to search the building and fight the fire.

The building's first floor contains three businesses, but the remainder of the building consists of apartments. Four residents were brought out by firefighters and checked by paramedics at the scene. At least one was transported to University Hospital with unspecified injuries

The fire was knocked down within minutes, but flareups along the roof kept firefighters busy.

The American Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
