Man Dies In Florida House Fire

Firefighters battled their way inside to find the man's body.

A 28-year-old man's body was found inside a burning mobile home on Coral Drive in San Pablo overnight.

Firefighters called about 12:30 a.m. could see the flames as they passed over the Intracoastal Waterway.

"Engine 55 reported that as they were coming across the intercoastal bridge they could see the flames in the distance," said Tom Francis of Jacksonville Fire and Rescue. "When they got here, the firefighters immediately began to try to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent moble homes that were only 20 to 40 feet away."

When they battled their way inside, they found the man's body. His name has not been released.

One firefighter was treated for minor steam-related injuries.

Channel 4 learned that some people who live in the neighborhood attempted to get inside of the burning home before rescue crews arrived, but the fire was so intense that they were unable to reach the man inside.

Investigators continue to search for what might have sparked the deadly fire.
