Industrial Explosion in Ohio

Three maintenance workers at Atlas Steel on Bavaria Road in Twinsburg were seriously injured Sunday night during an explosion and fire.

Police and firefighters from Twinsburg, Hudson, Macedonia and the Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to the blaze, which started about 10 p.m.

The three workers, who weren't identified, were taken by helicopter to burn units at Akron Children's Hospital and MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, said Gina DeVito-Staub, public information officer for the Twinsburg Fire Department.

Firefighters were still on the scene early this morning. A cause hadn't been determined.
