Lawyers for Cleveland's police and firefighters will file Monday to make the city enforce state laws about the new residency requirements.
The law has been on the books 24 hours but it's causing a lot of controversy, NewsChannel5 reported.
Representatives from the Cleveland Fighters Union, the Police Patrolman's Association and the Fraternal Order of Police gathered on the steps of City Hall Saturday.
The president of the Cleveland Firefighters Union said the economic issues the mayor's office is claiming will happen just aren't true.
A letter recently sent to Cleveland employees warned any worker who violated the city's residency rule would be fired.
