The Kern County Fire Department gave a special gift to the local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club Friday.
The gift was $5,000 to go towards repairs after vandals smashed doors and stole equipment from the club on Christmas Day.
Since the robbery, club officials have been attempting to raise about $8,000 for the repairs.
The hefty donation from the firefighters is enough to put them over their mark.
